<p><strong>Maintenance</strong><br />
Please do not hesitate to contact the housekeeping manager if anything in your suite is broken, damaged, missing or needs attention during your stay. We will arrange to have our maintenance team work on the problem. You are not required to be present for suite maintenance.</p>
<p><strong>Wi-Fi</strong><br />
The access information for your suite’s complimentary Wi-Fi is on your check-in envelope. This Wi-Fi connection is secure and designated to your suite only. We ask that you do not change the network name or password. If you do, please contact guest services on the next business day to inform us of the changes.</p>
<p>If you are having trouble connecting to the internet; unplug the wireless router and the modem. Wait for a one minute and plug them back in. This will not harm your connection or affect your network name or password. You may want to do this on a regular basis. If turning your router and modem off  does not work please contact housekeeping during office hours.</p>
<p><strong>Television</strong><br />
To use your television please make sure your television is set to channel 3 with the remote that corresponds to your TV. If you have a Shaw box make sure the amber light is showing. If the amber light is not showing take your Shaw remote and toggle between the “Cable” button and the “TV” button until the amber light appears. The Shaw remote should control most of the TV operations. If you are having additional problems with your television please contact housekeeping and we will see to the problem during the next available office hours.</p>
<p><strong>Telephone</strong><br />
If your telephone number starts with 899, you will need to push “9” to get an outside line. Then, dial the phone number you wish to call as usual. Local calls are free, however you will be charged for long distance calls. Please do not unplug your telephone from its wall jack. It may take up to 24 hours for the phone to reset and work again. Other information pertaining to the telephone in your suite will be found on your check-in package and with your telephone.</p>
<p><strong>Door Entry Code</strong><br />
You will find your door entry code on your check-in envelope. Please let your guests know this code before they arrive. When your guests arrive they can dial your suite’s access code on the keypad at each entrance, your suite’s telephone will ring. Press “9” to give your guests access. Please do not let anyone into the building that you do not know. Hang up the phone to deny access to any unwanted visitors.</p>
<p><strong>Keys</strong><br />
The black and grey fobs open all building doors, garage doors and allow you to access your floor in the elevator. For your room you may have a key or a key card. Key cards can be inserted into the slot in the lock and when the green light is activated you have access to your suite. All keys and fobs must be returned when you depart. You can either drop them off at the Guest Services office or leave them in the drop box across from the concierge desk. You will be charged $120 per set of keys that is not returned upon check-out. Please keep all of your access devices safe to preserve the security of the building, its contents and your personal items.</p>
<p><strong>Shower</strong><br />
When you turn on the water in your shower, the water will come out of the faucet. If you would like to have the water come out of the shower head, pull gently on the end of the faucet. There is a ring around the mouth of the faucet and when you pull this down the water flow will be redirected to come out of the shower head.</p>
<p><strong>Humidity Control</strong><br />
Each suite is equipped with a humidity control in the hallway. This control is connected to the ceiling exhaust fan in the bathroom. If the ceiling exhaust fan is on and the noise is disturbing you, simply raise the humidity settings until the fan turns off. Lower the humidity settings again next time you leave the apartment to keep your suite&#8217;s humidity down.</p>
<p><strong>Heat</strong><br />
There are individual controls for the electric heat in each room of your suite. Please adjust them to your personal comfort level.</p>
<p><strong>Air Conditioning</strong><br />
Each suite has a portable air conditioning unit. Use the controls on the unit to adjust the temperature to your liking. Please make sure the air conditioner’s exhaust is secured around the hole in the plastic window panel. The window on the other side of this panel should be wide open to allow the warm air from your apartment to vent out.</p>
<p>Air conditioning is not often needed in Vancouver and these units are found the storage closet in your suite for most of the year. On sunny days we recommend keeping the drapes closed during the day and when you are not in. This will  keep the temperature down in your apartment. Fans are also available to help with cooling and air circulation.</p>
<p>Please call housekeeping if you are having trouble with your air conditioning unit, if you would like to have your unit installed for the season, or if you would like to request a fan.</p>
<p><strong>Blinds</strong><br />
The blinds in your suite have a delicate chain at the bottom. Theses chains can be pulled and broken if the window is open and the blinds are closed. If you open your window please pull your blinds back so they do not get damaged. If you notice your blinds are in disrepair please call housekeeping.</p>
<p><strong>Garbage Disposal</strong><br />
Any soft food waste can do down the garbage disposal in your kitchen sink. There is a switch on the wall in your kitchen to turn the disposal on. Please run water from the tap while the garbage disposal is on. Kindly refrain from putting steak bones, corn cobs, cardboard, diapers, kitchen utensils and any large ridged items in the garbage disposal.</p>
<p>For disposing all other garbage and recycling at The Residences on Georgia take the elevator down to P1. You will see a sign directing you to a room where you can put your garbage in the compactor and separate your recycling in the bins provided.</p>
<p>At The Palisades, there is a garbage drop labelled “refuse” on each floor. Please put your garbage in small bags and put them in the refuse drop. Do not leave your garbage on the floor by the drop. Please take your recyclables to recycling on ground level and dispose of any other garbage in the dumpsters.</p>
<p><strong>Laundry</strong><br />
The washer and dryer are located in one of the closets in your suite. Please load the washer loosely. When adding detergent please do not exceed the recommended amount. Further instructions for the washer and dryer may be found on or with the machine.</p>
<p><strong>Ironing</strong><br />
An iron and ironing board can be found alongside your washer and dryer.</p>
<p><strong>Dry Cleaning</strong><br />
Please drop all dry cleaning off at the Guest Services office during office hours. Use the form and bags provided to indicate the number of items, type of service and delivery instructions. Forms must be complete for dry cleaning to be processed. All dry cleaning and laundry services will be charged to your credit card on file.</p>
<p>For same day service please drop your dry cleaning off by 9:30 a.m. It will be returned at 5:30 p.m. Same day service is only available on weekdays and is not available on Statutory holidays. Please be aware that next business day service means that items dropped off after 9:30 am on Friday may not be returned until Tuesday evening (or Wednesday evening if Monday is a statutory holiday). For additional dry cleaning forms, please visit the Guest Services office and for additional information about our dry cleaning services please call housekeeping at (604) 891-6167.</p>
<p><strong>Linens</strong><br />
All of your linens and towels will be changed during your scheduled housekeeping. Additional housekeeping is available for a fee and can be arranged by calling housekeeping at (604) 891-6167. You are also welcome to use your in-suite washer and dryer to do your linens between housekeeping.</p>

<p><strong>Fire and Safety Procedures for The Residences on Georgia</strong></p>
<p>The Residences on Georgia is equipped with the most up-to-date fire detection and<br />
communications systems. All emergency conditions will be communicated to residents via the<br />
public address system.</p>
<p>When the fire alarm is sounded, the elevators will return to the lobby level and remain there until<br />
the alarm has been investigated, cleared, and the elevators re-activated.</p>
<p><strong>When you check-in:</strong><br />
• Learn where the closest fire exits, pull stations and fire extinguishers are to your suite.</p>
<p><strong>Should you hear an alarm:</strong><br />
• Stay in your suite and await instructions over the public address system, which will<br />
follow shortly after the sounding of the alarm. If no announcement is made within two<br />
minutes, please evacuate your suite calmly and quickly.</p>
<p><strong>If you are ordered to evacuate your suite:</strong><br />
• Test the door for heat before opening it.<br />
• Shut all windows and doors before you leave.<br />
• Take your keycard with you.<br />
• Leave through marked fire exits, always checking ahead of you for smoke or fire.<br />
• NEVER USE THE ELEVATORS (they will be non-operational).<br />
• Report to the Alberni Street entrance (adjacent to Townhouses).</p>
<p><strong>If you are unable to leave your suite, or should the exits be blocked:</strong><br />
• STAY IN YOUR SUITE &#8211; it is the safest place for you.<br />
• Phone the Fire Department &#8211; Dial 911, and report your condition.<br />
• Shut off the air conditioner if on.<br />
• Wet a towel, sheet or blanket and stuff it under the door to prevent smoke from entering.<br />
• Fill the bathtub and any waste baskets with water &#8211; it will always come in handy to wet<br />
down towels, curtains, wall coverings, etc.</p>
<p><strong>Should you find a fire:</strong><br />
• Pull the alarm that is closest to your location.<br />
• Close all doors around the fire, if possible.<br />
• Immediately report the fire to the Fire Department &#8211; Dial 911.<br />
• Stay calm and take your keys with you when you leave the fire area.</p>

<p><strong>Gym</strong><br />
At The Residences on Georgia there is a 24-hour gym in each tower. In the west tower the gym is located on level G and in the east tower it is located on level 2. Guests staying at The Residences on Georgia may use either gym.</p>
<p>At The Palisades there is a gym in each tower. In the west tower the gym is on level 2 and is open 24-hours. In the east tower the gym is located on level 3 and is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Guests staying at The Palisades may use either gym.</p>
<p><strong>Garbage and Recycling</strong><br />
If you are staying at The Residences on Georgia take the elevator down to P1 and you will see a sign directing you to a room where you can put your garbage in the compactor and separate your recycling.</p>
<p>If you are in The Palisades, there is a garbage drop labelled “refuse” on each floor. Please put your garbage down this drop. Do not leave your garbage on the floor in this room. Please take your recyclables to the ground level and use the bins provided.</p>
<p><strong>Bike Storage</strong><br />
You are welcome to use our secure bicycle storage lockers which are located in the parking garages of each building. Please come to the Guest Services office to get a bicycle storage key and to register your bicycle. Bicycles parked in the bike lockers must be tagged with your suite number. Please  request a tag at the Guest Services office. For temporary bicycle parking there are bicycle stands located outside the front doors at The Palisades and at the Alberni St. entrances to The Residences on Georgia.</p>

<p><strong>Maintenance</strong><br />
If anything in your suite is broken, missing, damaged, or needs attention during your stay please do not hesitate to contact the housekeeping manager. We will arrange to have our maintenance team work on the problem. You are not required to be present for suite maintenance.</p>
<p><strong>Dry Cleaning</strong><br />
Please drop all dry cleaning off at the Guest Services office during office hours. Use the form and bags provided to indicate the number of items, type of service and delivery instructions. Forms must be complete for dry cleaning to be processed.  All dry cleaning and laundry services will be charged to your credit card on file.</p>
<p>For same day service please drop your dry cleaning off by 9:30 a.m. It will be returned  at 5:30 p.m. Same day service is only available on weekdays and is not available on Statutory holidays.  Please be aware that next business day service means that items dropped off after 9:30 am on Friday may not be returned until Tuesday evening (or Wednesday evening if Monday is a statutory holiday).</p>
<p>For additional dry cleaning forms, please visit the Guest Services office and for additional information about our dry cleaning services please call housekeeping at (604) 891-6167.</p>
<p><strong>Linens</strong><br />
All of your linens and towels will be changed during your scheduled housekeeping. Additional housekeeping is available for a fee and can be arranged by calling housekeeping. You are also welcome to use your in-suite washer and dryer to do your .</p>
<p><strong>Bed Rentals</strong><br />
You may arrange to have an air mattress, foam mattress, crib or playpen with sheets delivered to your suite for a nightly charge of $10 per night with a maximum of $100 per month. We have a limited number of each of these beds available. Please call or email housekeeping to reserve one as soon as you know you will be needing it.</p>

We kindly ask that you arrange to settle any outstanding items on your bill with Vancouver Extended Stay&#8217;s Guest Services or Accounting department prior to your departure. If you plan on leaving outside office hours please come and see us in the Guest Services Office, during office hours, on the business day before you leave to settle your account.</p>
<p><strong>Leaving Your Suite </strong><br />
Your suite should be left in reasonable condition. The housekeepers will do a thorough clean upon your departure. However, if additional cleaning is required by our housekeeping staff due to excessive garbage, dirt, or mess, your account will be billed for the additional cleaning time.</p>
<p>Please declare any previously unreported damages to your suite or its contents at this time. Any damages, apart from regular wear and tear, that were not reported on your suite inspection report may result in additional charges to your account.</p>
<p><strong>Late Check-Out</strong><br />
<strong></strong>If you would like  a late check out you must receive permission from Guest Services on the business day prior to your check out. Late check outs are granted only when circumstances permit. The charge for a late check out is 50% of one night&#8217;s stay. Please understand that we may not be able to accommodate your late check out.</p>
<p>If you fail to vacate your room by 11:00 a.m. on the day of your departure, and you have not confirmed arrangements for a late check-out, you will be charged a full night&#8217;s stay. You must still proceed to check-out.</p>
<p><strong>Key Return</strong><br />
Please return your keys by putting them in your check-in envelope and bringing them to the rental office. All keys and fobs must be accounted for at check-out. There is a $120 charge for keys and fobs that are not returned. If you are leaving outside office hours, you may leave the keys in the Vancouver Extended Stay&#8217;s drop box in the door across from the concierge desk.</p>

<p><strong>How do my keys work?</strong><br />
The black and grey fobs open all building doors, garage doors and allow you to access your floor in the elevator. For your room you may have a key or a key card. Key cards can be inserted into the slot in the lock and when the green light is activated you have access to your suite. If your key card is white it is a temporary key card. It will stop working 1 business day after you arrive. Please bring all your paperwork to the office and complete your check-in for a permanent key card. Please keep all of your access devices safe to preserve the security of the building, its contents and your personal items.</p>
<p><strong>How do I make a telephone call?</strong><br />
If your telephone number starts with 899, you will need to push “9” to get an outside line. Then, dial the phone number you wish to call as usual. Local calls are free, however you will be charged for long distance calls. Please do not unplug your telephone from its wall jack. It may take up to 24 hours for the phone to reset and work again.</p>
<p><strong>How do I let my friends into the building?</strong><br />
You will find your door entry code on your check-in envelope. Please let your guests know this code before they arrive. When your guests want to enter, your suite’s telephone will ring. You can press “9” to give your guests access or you can hang up the phone to deny them access. Granting them access will allow them a few minutes to get into the elevator and have access to your floor.</p>
<p><strong>Where do I dispose of my garbage?</strong><br />
Please dispose of your garbage. If you are in the Residences on Georgia take the elevator down to P1 and you will see a sign directing you to a room where you can put your garbage in the compactor and separate your recycling. If you are in the Palisades, there is a garbage drop labelled “refuse” on each floor please put your garbage down the chute and take your recyclables to P1.</p>
<p><strong>How do I connect to my suite&#8217;s Wi-Fi?</strong><br />
The access information for your suite’s complimentary Wi-Fi is on your check-in envelope. This Wi-Fi connection is secure and designated to your suite. We ask that you do not change the network name or password. If you do, please contact guest services on the next business day to inform us of the changes.</p>
<p>If you are having trouble connecting to the internet; unplug the wireless router and the modem. Wait for a one minute and plug them back in. This will not harm your connection or affect your network name or password. You may want to do this on a regular basis. Please contact Guest Services during office hours if turning your router and modem off  does not work.</p>
<p><strong>Why won&#8217;t my shower work? </strong><br />
When you turn on the water in your shower, the water will come out of the faucet. If you would like to have the water come out of the shower head, pull gently on the end of the faucet. There is a ring around the mouth of the faucet and when you pull this down the water flow will be redirected to come out of the shower head. </p>
<p><strong>Why won&#8217;t my bathroom fan turn off? </strong><br />
Vancouver is often a very damp city. There are  humidity controls in your suite which activate the bathroom fans when the humidity rises. The humidity control for each suite is typically located in the hallway outside the bathroom door. Adjusting theses settings will turn your bathroom fan on and off and help you to balance the humidity in your suite. If the ceiling exhaust fan is on and the noise is disturbing you, simply raise the humidity settings until the fan turns off. Lower the humidity settings again next time you leave the apartment to keep your suite’s humidity down.</p>
<p><strong>What is Vancouver Extended Stay&#8217;s policy on smoking?</strong><br />
There is absolutely no smoking, of any kind, allowed in any of our suites, on the balconies and in the common areas without exception. We ask for your understanding on this matter. Should you choose to smoke in your suite, your account will be charged an additional apartment cleaning fee of $500.</p>
<p><strong>When do I get housekeeping?</strong><br />
Housekeeping will be provided as per the arrangements you made at the time you booked your suite. For questions regarding housekeeping please call Housekeeping at (604) 891-6167.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Each reservation may request one free parking space. Your parking pass will be included with your check-in package if you made parking arrangements with us in advance. You may also make arrangements for parking at any time during office hours.  To arrange a parking pass in advance please contact Guest Services at (604) 891-6153 or guestservices@vancouverextendedstay.com.</p>
<p>If you check in after hours and you did not arrange a parking pass you may purchase a visitor parking pass from the ticket machine on site. Please come to the Guest Services office on the next day business day to arrange a free parking pass for the rest of your stay.</p>
<p>Please display your parking pass clearly on your dash while you are parked. You may only park only in the parking stall assigned to you. Leaving your car in any other spot may result in your car being towed.</p>
<p><strong>Parking Locations</strong><br />
The parking entrance for The Palisades can be found at 1288 Alberni St. The driveway and parking garage is one-way please observe the signs. Pass through the second residential parking gate to find your assigned parking spot.</p>
<p>At The Residences on Georgia you can enter the parking garage from Bute St. or Jervis St. Pass through the second residential parking gate to find your assigned parking spot.</p>
<p>Parking on P1 is paid parking only and you may use these spots by purchasing a ticket at the ticket vending machine on site. You will be towed or ticketed by the local towing company that monitors the area if you park in a spot that is not assigned to you or if you park in P1 in a spot that you have not bought a parking ticket for.</p>
<p><strong>Check-In Parking At The Residence on Georgia </strong><br />
Enter the parking garage on Jervis St. between Georgia St. and Alberni St. Dial #+9000 at the parking gate and the concierge will give you access to the parking garage. The check-in parking spots are the first three spots on your left (if you enter at Bute they are the last three spots on your right). To get to the Guest Services office, walk down the ramp across from these parking spots and enter the building through the doors on your right. Dial #+9000 again for building access and come to our rental office beside the concierge desk on level 1 to check-in and reserve a pass for the duration of your stay.</p>
<p><strong>Check-In Parking At The Palisades</strong><br />
For check-in parking at The Palisades, please pull into the driveway and use of the temporary spots located between the two towers. If these spots are full, street parking is also available.</p>
<p><strong>Occupied Parking Spaces</strong><br />
If someone else is in your parking spot, please do not choose another spot for yourself. Park in the 30-minute guest parking and speak to Guest Services or to the concierge. If you are in a spot that is not assigned to you, you are at risk of being towed by the towing company that monitors the area.</p>
<p><strong>Loading Zones</strong><br />
Please observe the time limits posted on check-in parking and in loading zones. These time limits are strictly observed by building strata and the towing companies that monitor the area.</p>
<p><strong>Pay Parking</strong><br />
Pay parking is available on parking level 1 of the Residences on Georgia and The Palisades for your guests and for additional vehicles. You may purchase a ticket at the ticket machine on site. Street parking is also available on Alberni St. and in the area.</p>
<p><strong>Parking for your Visitors</strong><br />
Please ask your guests to enter your door entry code on the keypad for entrance to the underground parking area. You can find your door entry code on your check-in package. Push “9” on the phone in your room to allow them access. Pay parking is available on parking level 1 of the Residences on Georgia and The Palisades for your guests and for additional vehicles.  Street parking is also available in the area.</p>
