This coming week you will see more cyclists on the road for B.C.’s Bike to Work Week. This event will be taking place across British Columbia from May 27 to June 2 and celebrates commuter cycling as an active alternative to driving to work or taking transit.
For Vancouver’s Bike to Work Week, offices across the city will be competing to log kilometres travelled and number of employees cycling to work. Celebration Stations will be located along major bike routes in the city. They will be promoting cycling education, increasing awareness and giving away prizes. Though the event is on now, the temperate climate in the Lower Mainland makes cycling a convenient option year-round. The City of Vancouver is criss-crossed with bike lanes and every part of the region can be accessed along bicycle friendly routes.
