If you find yourself in Vancouver over the Thanksgiving weekend, there are lots of great events to choose from to make this a long weekend to remember. From gourmet turkey dinners to square dancing parties, Vancouver is set to host a great Thanksgiving weekend!

1. RIPE 2013 is the Vancouver Farmers Market 4th Annual Dinner Fundraiser. They will be serving up a casual, family style Thanksgiving feast with all the fixings, all prepared by local chefs. To compliment the meal, cocktails, BC wine and local micro brews will be featured. Team this up with a silent auction and live entertainment and you’ve got yourself an exciting Thanksgiving!

2. Looking for a fun, laid back event in one of Vancouver’s most unique areas? The Fall Community Harvest Dance will be sure to deliver a one of a kind Thanksgiving. This family friendly, fun filled evening will feature live square dancing music and feasting on delicious, hearty soup or stew and fresh bread for dinner. Here’s the cool part: the bowl your meal comes in is handmade and you get to take it home! There will be arts & crafts for the kids at this family friendly party. Kids under 2 years of age are free

When: Friday, October 18th 6pm-8pm

 3. The Granville Island Turkey Trot. If you overindulge on Thanksgiving weekend, here’s the perfect solution: head down to Granville Island and walk or run off that second helping of turkey dinner!
