Whether you’re in the mood for a thrill or to chill, there’s no shortage of things to do for any mood while in Vancouver. So take full advantage of your time off this summer and fill your calendars with these six activities and events!

Honda Celebration of Light

We’re starting our list off with a bang! Running for its 29th year, the Honda Celebration of Light has been recognized as the longest operating off-shore fireworks festival in the world. Featuring shows from India, Canada, and Croatia, this year’s week-long competition begins July 27 and runs until August 3. Be sure to head down early to English Bay or Second Beach to grab a bite to eat, enjoy live music, and secure a spot for the show.

Explore the Seawall

Ask any Vancouverite and they’ll tell you that exploring the Seawall is a must-do summer activity in the city. At 8.8 kilometres long, this paved waterfront route is perfect for walking, rollerblading, or biking. In addition to the stunning views of the city, you’ll be blown away by the natural beauty of the ocean and forest on either side of you. As a result, you’ll want to make sure to have your camera by your side so you can capture all of the gorgeous scenery!

The Fair at the PNE

Attracting millions of visitors since 1910, the Fair at the PNE is one of Vancouver’s most-loved traditions of the summer. With everything from mini donuts and rides to outdoor concerts and SuperDog shows, you won’t have any trouble filling your day (or your stomach) while in attendance. This annual summer staple runs from August 17 to September 2 and is sure to deliver fun for the whole family.

Relax at the Beach

Vancouver is home to many beautiful beaches – perfect for a hot day and a good book. Some of our favourites include English BayKitsilano, and Second Beach, each with concessions, public washrooms, and lifeguards available. In addition, all three beaches offer beautiful sandy shores that are both comfortable for lying on and great for building sandcastles with the family! So grab your towel and sunscreen and head down to the water for the ultimate day of relaxation.
