Indoor Activities near Vancouver Extended Stay for Cold Winter Days

The winter season in British Columbia can feel long, dark and slow. Luckily, Vancouver Extended Stay is surrounded by numerous options of activities no matter the season. Once the busy holiday season comes to an end, we still have months of winter ahead. Even though Vancouver is known for its mild climate, the cool and often wet weather can start to get tiring! Here are some ideas for families, couples, and individuals to discover. There is no need to hide and hibernate during these cool days, we hope this list gives you the motivation to get out and discover the city!

For Families:

Vancouver Central Library

The Central Library features gorgeous architecture that anyone can appreciate. The library is the one place where there is no limit on what your kids can bring home with them! It is close enough for you to visit it every couple of days while you are in Vancouver.

Science World

Science World is a close by attraction that will be easy to spend a day at. About a 12 minute walk takes you to Science World where you can encourage the kids to be curious, ask questions and explore. Maybe the adults will learn something new as well!

Vancouver Aquarium

A little farther away but still just a 20 minute drive is the Vancouver Aquarium. With so many attractions and sights to see, you can easily go back the next day and still not experience everything. There are touch pools, a 4D theatre and more. We are so lucky to have this centre so close to us.

For Couples or Friends:

Willow Stream Spa

What better way to completely unwind and relax than at a spa! We love the Willow Stream Spa for its luxurious atmosphere, but we are lucky to be in an area that has many options for a couples massage or a full spa day.

Canucks Logo

Looking for a big night out with friends? We are steps away from Rogers Arena where you can catch a Vancouver Canucks game or other concerts and events! This is the place to go in order to really experience the Vancouver community and spirit.

For a date night, or casual meal with friends, we recommend Vancouver Urban Winery. Open for brunch, lunch or dinner and features 36 wines on tap. Plus an on-site brewery! Followed by a 20 minute stroll back to Vancouver Extended Stay, this would make an ideal relaxed outing.

For Individuals:

Here on your own and have some time to spare? A slow walk around the neighbourhood will have you in the midst of many coffee shops and boutiques. Stop in and stay a while or continue to explore, it’s easy to spend a day in this area of the city. Or if you are looking for a more structured afternoon we recommend:

MOV

The Museum of Vancouver is one of many museums we have in the city. If you are looking to relish in the alone time of your getaway, a museum is a nice way to escape and lose yourself in culture, education and new experiences.
